Check out Chainguard at KubeCon EU in London on April 1-4

Nicole McWilliams, Senior Event Manager

KubeCon EU 2025 in London is right around the corner! Chainguard will be at Booth N300 on April 1-4 at KubeCon, where we’ll be doing product demos, giving out plenty of swag, and sharing information about Chainguard Containers, and our new products, Chainguard Libraries and Chainguard VMs. We’re also partnering with Cloudsmith, Control Plane, Kusari, Sysdig, and Tailscale to give away a variety of cool prizes, including a Nintendo Switch, a pair of smart glasses, and a Playstation Portable.

Last week at Chainguard Assemble, our inaugural event for security and engineering professionals, we announced several new things, including two new products: Chainguard Libraries and Chainguard VMs. We also announced a new partnership with Datadog to gain better visibility into your organization’s container footprint. If you will be at KubeCon and are interested in learning more about these new offerings, please come find us at the booth.

For anyone who isn’t able to make it to the booth, you can still catch us at other events throughout the week. See what we’re up to and plan accordingly; you won’t want to miss us! 👇

Where to find us

Activating Community to Grow in Cloud Native

Chainguard Senior Director of Developer Enablement Lisa Tagliaferri will participate in a panel discussing the characteristics of a productive learning community, how external engagement can support a culture of resource sharing, and why being able to learn effectively may be a developer’s most important skill. Community-based learning supports a safe environment to take risks, opportunities for greater breadth of learning, and an on-ramp for newcomers to contribute to a project. Join us to discuss the intersection of open source and education, and walk away with the knowledge of how to build and leverage a learning community.

Friday, April 4

10:30-10:50 BST

Measuring Container Image Security

Chainguard Staff DevRel Engineer Adrian Mouat will go over CHPs, a new capability inspired by SLSA to classify and measure container image security levels. Higher levels are progressively harder to achieve. The criteria are split into 4 areas:

  • Minimalism: reducing the complexity and attack surface of a container.

  • Provenance: proving the origins of a container and the software inside it.

  • Configuration and metadata: which settings to configure on images.

  • CVEs: reducing the number of known vulnerabilities in images.

The criteria ranges from straightforward checks such as not running as root, to more complex advice around ensuring provenance. The criteria are largely independent, allowing teams to focus on the areas most important for their use case. In this demo, you’ll see hands-on examples of how the criteria can be applied to various container images.

Come to this demo, learn how to assess the security standing of your images, and finally have a comprehensive and straightforward way to answer: “How secure are your container images?"

After Hours
